sweet baby boy

I met a wonderful family of three last week (and grandma too) and we had fun taking lots of pictures of this little sweety on his two-week birthday.  At first he wasn’t the most willing participant but finally he got sleepy (for a little while) and we got some adorable shots.

First up – an antique crib that had been passed down several generations.  Isn’t it sweet….

Had to include the close up of the lips – so mushy and sweet.

and the feet – soooo tiny……

I’m a sucker for daddy and baby pictures – they are usually my favorites.  This is no exception – just look at little Mr. M’s face.

The whole family.  I love how he’s holding dad’s finger with one hand and clinging to the passy with his other hand.

And I know this will bring a smile to mom & dad’s face.  I won’t tell the story behind the picture – it will be our secret!  :)

do you recognize her????

this is miss “J” – her gorgeous eyes got me a spot on the Showcase School of Photography website this semester!  :)    You can click here to see the picture – or you’ll see it on my scrolling slideshow at the top of the page.

This young lady is the strong survivor of open-heart surgery earlier this year at the young age of SIX MONTHS!  She is amazing and so are her parents.  We had fun taking pictures – and even got some smiles this time around (she was soooooo serious for our last session).

Oh, those eyes….. just couldn’t resist the close up….

A big smile or laugh – not sure which!

Oh my gosh – sooooo cute right?!  I look at this picture and think of when my daughter had the chubby baby rolls – and now she’s like a little string bean!  It happens overnight (if only that could happen to me!!)

The wonderful family of three! (Back to the serious faces from miss J)

This picture was so funny to me.  Miss J doesn’t have any interest in crawling yet – but she sure wanted to get this block.  She was stretching as far as she could – thinking I’m a real meany I’m sure!

Thanks mom & dad for including me in your journey this first year.  I know it’s been challenging and I’m honored that I could help you document some beautiful moments to keep forever!

a blog post to make you smile…

I couldn’t help it – I had to do a little collage of some of the funny “sites” I captured of these kids.  I love this family!  This is my third time photographing them and we always have a great time.  Brother and sister are really sweet together and they both have a wonderful sense of humor (as you can see).  What a difference a year makes – check out last year’s sneak peak HERE.

So, first up, the funny stuff….

But seriously – these two are so cute and sweet.  I love this one of handsome big brother (it’s hard to get a shot without a funny face – he’s full of them)!

And little sister with her infectious smile.

And – everyone knows how I love the kisses…..

Some kisses for Dad too (he missed the Falcons game to take family pictures with us).

Mom has been through a lot this year – so I help these pictures make her smile!  :)

the weekend begins…

with this precious little one!  The weather worked out perfect for us – and there were leaves EVERYWHERE from the mini storm Friday night.  This little doll just turned one and she caught on to me pretty quickly (avoiding my camera at all cost by the end).  We got some wonderful smiles and I had such a good time with mom & dad.   Thanks for spending your Saturday morning with me!  :)

Meet miss “T”

Love this one – so happy!

Can you believe the leaves???  You could barely see the ground!  This adorable smile came after a little snack – and with some peek-a-boo from mom!

A lollipop picture with a little vintage flair….  :)

just a great wednesday morning!

I was a little nervous before this session because Mom told me she had a 4 year old, 2 year old and 6 month old.  Me being pregnant and all, I wasn’t sure how good I would be at chasing them all down to get some great pictures.  But, there was nothing to worry about because these three little ones were SO happy, well behaved, funny and cooperative (especially the baby).  Mom and Dad were super energetic and ready to do all kinds of acrobatics for some smiles – and we got plenty!

I know I’ve said a million times – but can’t help it – I love my job!  This is the SUPER BUSY season, but it’s just so much fun to meet so many new people and their families.  Helping people capture what will hopefully be treasured moments in time.  It’s really, really cool!  :)

So, meet this beautiful family of five…..

This is Mr. “B” – The oldest brother (only 4 though) and I have to tell you, he brought me to tears playing the piano in their living room.  It was truly like seeing a miracle.  He doesn’t read music and hasn’t had lessons – just plays from what he hears.  AMAZING!

Ahhh, the middle child, full of personality and spunk!  Meet Mr. “W”

Had to include this one – do you see what’s about to “greet” older brother……?

And sweet baby “L” who didn’t make a peep through several clothing changes, missing her nap and being dragged outside in the cold.

The whole family.  Mom said she wasn’t prepared to actually be IN the pictures – but I’m so glad they went with it.  So cute!!

A sweet moment with baby “L”.    Thanks “H” Family for sharing your morning with me!

the elusive smile

One of my toughest customers yet!  This little sweety had me almost in tears (from laughing) with her stone face.  She would do anything I asked – except smile!  I made jokes, I sang songs, I went in for the tickle – but she was strong!  Of course, I still got some adorable pictures – and a few smiles too.   It was cold, but we had fun playing in the leaves and running around.

Isn’t this hood so cute???

Love her big, dark, reflective eyes.

Miss “A” with her mommy – so pretty!

We popped over to the dance studio up the street at the end of our session for a few minutes and took some shots in her little ballet dress.  She was dancing for me – but not sure if she did any true ballet moves!  :)

party of SEVEN!!!

A family picture with 2 adults, 3 kids (age 5 and under), and 2 dogs – is it the impossible dream?  Well, we decided to give it a try on Sunday.  As long as you have realistic expectations about everyone looking at the camera at the same time (not likely) with a perfect pose (not likely) and perfect smile (not likely) then you would be surprised at how nice (and fun) the outcome can be.  This is my third session with this family – but the first time we have taken pictures of anyone else besides the kids.    We laughed the whole time and I really enjoyed hanging out with them.   They just make me feel happy!  :)

First up – twin boys.  Mr “L” on the left is such a lover (he gave me about 20 hugs before I left) and Mr “E” on the right is Mr. Independent for sure!

Next up is Miss “A” on her second birthday.  Such a cutie pie.

And next – the whole family – including the dogs.

I just love this picture!  A true moment in life.  I can only imagine what it’s like as the parents of three young kids to find time for each other.   Look what happens when you try to sneak a kiss – even the dog wants to watch!  :)

And this is Molly.  She’s 13 years old and mom is worried she won’t be around much longer.  Look at her sweet, loving eyes.

There REALLY is a Santa Claus!

I SAW HIM ON SATURDAY!  We had such a fun afternoon at the Shoppe of Vinings with Santa last weekend.  If you missed it – mark your calendar for next year – the second Saturday in November.  It’s very casual and FREE, you can bring your own camera and Santa is so good with the kids.   The ladies at the store are great to work with and we decided early on that I would come and take some courtesy pictures for this very special event they do every year.  At first I was concerned about the lighting but I love the way the pictures turned out.  They look so nostalgic and “homey” (is that a word)?  It looks like they are sitting in the living room with Santa,  sharing the special moments that pass by so quickly.

So, here’s a few from the day.  I have over 300 pictures so don’t despair if you don’t see yours below!  Just check my website 11/15-23 to see the rest.  This first one was such a classic – such a sweet little girl reading her list.

Love this!  These boys are thinking …. “I don’t know about this guy….”

What do you suppose this little baby was thinking?

Say it with me… AAAWWWWWWW!

There was lots of love for Santa – and some crying too – but everyone had a fun time!

lots of pictures in this post

I did some pictures today for one of my dearest friends here in Atlanta.  It’s hard to believe we’ve known each other for 9 years now.  We have all the pre-kid memories; Joy Luck Club and strawberry ice cream at 3am, Parafin Wax on the feet (I’ll say no more),  Madonna, Savannah, the drunken night at the cabin (not us – the boys!).  And now we get to share and create the kid memories together too.   Being froma very small family with no siblings, I really treasure the friendships I have created over the years – they are just like family to me and I am so thankful for the beautiful people in my life.

Speaking of beautiful – I feel like I should have to PAY Vicki to take pictures of her daughter!  My camera loves her and there are always WAY TOO MANY great pictures to choose from.   Miss “A” has always been a fabulous model – but today she was really in her groove.  It was a little chilly – but with some nice leg warmers on – who cares!  :)

I really feel like this is a snapshot into the future.  Can’t you just see what she will look like in 15 years?  I am imagining her all bundled up on the ski slopes…..  :)

A little vintage style on this photo – so cool!

A couple family shots – this is one of my new FAVORITE picture spots.

And a happy birthday wish to Vicki – still 29!

precious 9 month old

I don’t know who is more excited to see the pictures – me when I get home from a session or my clients patiently waiting for their galleries.  I REALLY try to get preview pics posted on my blog ASAP because I know how hard it is to wait for your pictures – especially during my busy season when everyone has to wait a little longer than normal.

So, here is my second session from today.  Thank goodness we were able to move the time up and avoid the rain.  My client had a magnificent home with tons of light and endless photo opportunities.   This sweet baby was about as happy as they come – crawling and pulling up on everything.  She was fascinated with my camera so I got lots of great looks and smiles.  Oh, how I remember this stage of parenthood – and I guess I better get ready since it will be coming back at me very soon….

Without further ado….. the front entrance – isn’t it gorgeous?

I love this picture – the Santa Hat, the cool staircase and the awesome engagement picture of mom & dad on the wall in the background.

I guess her name isn’t a secret anymore….   :)

And I will end with a big beautiful smile.  I love the trees right now – they look like watercolor paintings in the background!
