the girls

Little miss “C” arrived a little early and she is the sweetest thing with a full head of hair and silky soft skin.  I had so much fun photographing her – and mom is so relaxed – she let me do whatever I wanted!  ;)

Mom (and Dad) have their hands full with these two beauties – just wait until they are in high school!

Miss “C” gave me so many smiles during our session.  Sometimes she would even open her eyes and smile.  I think she really likes me…..

ACC5

Miss “A” was so great the whole morning.  She loves her baby sister and she even did a few poses for me.  Beautiful!

You can see our last session HERE.  Thanks mom for allowing me to capture such precious moments for you.  Can’t wait to see you guys again!  :)

new year, new baby | baby photography atlanta

You might remember this family because we just recently did a session while mom was pregnant.  Miss “E” arrived a couple days before Christmas – and she is just a sweetheart.  She was awake for most of our session, and surprisingly, she hardly made a fuss.  I couldn’t really curl her up and pose her like I do the sleeping babies – she liked to stretch out.  She’s only two weeks old and so alert.

Doesn’t she almost look a bit annoyed with me here?  Like – “Hey photographer lady, can’t you see I’m trying to relax here??”  Hee-hee!

SJ03

Mom is amazing.  Mr. “A” came along for the session, so it was just the four of us.  Anytime I tried to take pictures with mom and baby, Mr. A wanted in on the action.  Mom handled everything with a smile, she was so relaxed.  Love that.  :)

SJ01

After several hours, Miss E gave in to the sleep.  She REALLY liked being wrapped up, so I decided to just photograph her that way.  Doesn’t she look peaceful?

SJ02

Of course, big brother didn’t want to have his picture made with his little sister.  Mom let me put her in the baby-doll stroller to see if Mr. A would come with us and take a picture.  I wouldn’t normally share this pic (it’s not really a “portrait”) but don’t you just LOVE the little twinkle in his eyes?!   “Now I’ve got her, look out, here we come!!!”  Of course, he’s a pretty smart little guy, and once he realized it was part of an evil plan to take his picture, he was done.

an early christmas gift | baby photography atlanta

I got to meet this precious little girl on her DUE DATE because she was nine days early.  Mom and Dad are calling her their Christmas gift – and what a special gift she is.   I feel so lucky to have a glimpse into the early days of new babies and new parents.  It brings back memories of my experiences with both of my children (good & bad) and reminds me of just how quickly the time flies by – and how amazing these teeny, tiny, wee ones are.

Meet Miss “A” and her perfect little angel lips, fuzzy baby hair and tender soft skin.  And yes, I just had to give her a little kiss while I held her….  ;)

AA2

The jury is still out – Gators or Bulldogs……..

AA1

I kept trying to curl her little legs up under her (which most babies love), but Miss A wasn’t having any of it.  She would instantly stretch her legs – and even prop herself up on her knees.  Adorable right??

baby love | baby photography atlanta

Oh my goodness, this little guy was sooooooooooooo sweet.  I have to admit I was a little nervous since mom called me when he was already about 10 days old – so I fit him in my schedule ASAP, but he was just over two weeks old by then.  That may not seem like a big deal to most people, but as any photog will tell you, the EARLIER THE BETTER with the newborn pictures.   Mr. “M” proved all of my theories wrong and slept almost the entire time.  He curled up so cozy just about anywhere I put him.  LOVE IT!

SW004

SW01

Mom and Dad were awesome to work with.  They were very relaxed for first time parents and they let me “do my thing” which is so fun for me!  Aren’t they cute??  :)

SW003

And a smile from mr. handsome…..

SW02

My favorite….  I love the little hand dangling.

so precious | baby photography atlanta

Okay, I’m a little partial because she’s my dear friend’s baby – but isn’t she sooooooo sweet?   I was there when my friend met her *future* husband (it was my birthday, but I won’t tell you which one) and now I got to be there to photograph one of the most amazing times of life – the first few days with their sweet baby girl.  Meet Kaitlyn.

happy girls | atlanta family photography

This little sweety was born just a few weeks after my Jakester.  She is sooooo happy and cute.  Her mom and I were talking about how lucky we have been (so far) with pretty easy babies the second time around…. whew!  :)   Mom is great at picking out clothes – she showed up at my door with this cute little hat and matching pearls!  Adorable!

Here are a couple shots from the “indoor” part of our session.  I think she’s going to like playing dress up with her big sister!

SK02

Just look at those eyes!

SK01

Big sister was hamming it up for me today.  There was no shortage of silly faces (which seems to be a trend with the 3-year-olds lately).  But, what can you do, they are so full of personality – I love it!

SK03

The whole family….  except the fur babies of course.

SK04

Okay – say it with me – ” Awwwwwwwww ”

SK05

And again: “Awwwwww”

precious six week old

This little guy was as sweet as could be.  He was awake for most of the session but hardly fussed at all.  Mom gave me a project – to get a picture of his dimples.  Dad gave me a project – to get a picture with the GEORGIA gear!  We accomplished both – yeah!

First up – a pose mom wanted to try.  :)

CB1

Ta-da!  Dimples!

CB4

Mom and Dad were so sweet with their little man.  What a beautiful family!

CB2

Dad, forgive me — I promise I have other pictures for you, but this one really speaks volumes.  It was the end of the session and we were playing the “passy game” with poor Mr. B so that we could get a few final pictures in his Georgia attire.   This is how he felt about the whole charade!   He fell into a nice deep sleep after this……

new prop

Thanks to my awesome husband, I got some time yesterday to go “prop hunting”.   I found some great new stuff – mostly for newborns – but a 6 month old works too.  What do you think of this cool new background?

GT1

I tell my clients all the time that one of the best times to photograph your child is when they can sit up but can’t crawl yet.   They are generally very happy wherever you put them AND they give you these great stares.

GT2

And another upside, sometimes your 3 year old gets jealous, takes off her shirt and joins in the fun!  ;)

big miracle, small package

Sweet baby “N” was born very early – but he’s perfect in every way!  At just 7 weeks old, he’s already 8 pounds and a bundle of joy.  I wasn’t sure what to expect with this session, since baby “N” is older than most of my newborns, and yet, his due date was just last week!  He was an angel and hardly made a peep (except when we took his pacifier away!).  When I downloaded the images I was so touched by the love and joy that exuded from each picture.  Mom and Dad were so fun, happy and loving towards each other – even in the midst of what can be a VERY stressful time.  I can’t wait to watch this little one grow up (with all of our other little ones in the ‘hood) and I’m glad to have found two new friends!

Without further delay – enjoy!

TK5

I love when I get the smile picture!  Don’t worry Mom & Dad – you’ll be seeing LOTS more of these soon!

And, a funny one – just look at that face!  He’s going to have some personality right?

had to share…

I have been so busy lately with sessions and editing galleries, I haven’t done much sharing on the personal side.  Although I have been under the weather all week, I decided to take a few pictures of Jake yesterday morning.  He is already the victim of the “second child syndrome” and I have about 75% less pictures of him than I did of Kylie when she was this age.    Our “session” lasted about 10 minutes – and then Kylie wanted to join in.  I was cracking up as I was going through this series of pictures, and I decided it was worth sharing.  There isn’t really one “perfect” picture, but together they tell the story of a beautiful sibling relationship that is just beginning.

I often have a string of pictures like these from client sessions as well.  On an individual basis, not really portrait worthy, but together, a great story.  So, the best thing to do is make a collage……. right?

Just look at the faces on Jake. He is already so animated and boisterous – I can only imagine what it will be like around here when he starts moving!
